It is the opinion of the present author that the long‐term fate of the hard tissue implant interface seems to remain one with good success rates and that peri‐implantitis remains an uncommon disease, at least with the original Brånemark implants, the only system with documented success for 10–20 years (Jemt and Albrektsson 24).
